I own nothing but the plot. Now, just so you know, this takes place after the battle with Galaxia, and for those of you keeping track of my senshi-verse at home, after Jovian Sun as well. Now, I don’t want to give away any future plots I’m working on, so I’m not going to give you an exact day, but Usagi is seventeen and has yet to graduate from high school.

A blonde girl and a brunette boy, both only about age ten or eleven, maybe twelve, ran down the London street, ducking around a corner to hide. The duo grinned and giggled, their heads peeking out around the corner to see cops searching high and low for them. The blonde giggled again and turned to her companion, a bright smile on her face.
“Oh, Peter, that was so much fun!” she cheered. Finally, she was free of her duties as a princess and could do whatever she pleased. Her face fell for a second. “If only they hadn’t noticed us before we took anything...”
The boy smirked and raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure about that, Serenity?” he asked, holding up a silver necklace without any decoration. The jewelry was the only piece he had managed to grab before running away from the police, but still. It fit Serenity. Judging by her simple, white dress, she liked the basics.
Despite the blandness of the jewelry, Serenity gasped, clapping her hands together excitedly. “Oh, it’s so pretty!” she cheered. Though for the princess, it was nothing, for Serenity, it meant everything. She had never been given a gift that did not have strings and politics attached to it.
“Glad you like it,” Peter declared, “after all, it is for you.” Peter was amused by her reaction. Never before had any of the lost boys gotten so excited over a gift, even at Christmas time when Peter’s father supplied some more valuable presents.
Serenity’s eyes went wide, and she bit her lip. “Put it on me,” she said in a half-request, half-demand, spinning away from the boy and lifting her hair up so Peter could put the chain around her neck. Giddy would be a perfect word to describe Serenity in that moment. A sweet, handsome boy had given her a gift without expecting her hand in marriage in return. She squirmed a bit, unable to keep all of her energy inside.
Peter did as told, letting Serenity put her hair down and turn back to him once he was done. The blonde looked down to her new necklace and then back up at Peter. “Oh thank you,” she whispered, unable to find anything else to say. “Thank you so much.”

A sigh was the only sound to escape into the night air at the Tsukino household. The noise erupted from a petite blonde as she struggled to understand the mathematics problems before her. Who needed calculus anyway? She wasn’t going to be in school for another year to take it, so why was pre-calculus even necessary for her?
Feeling the stress of the night getting to her, Usagi shook her head and turned away from her troubles, instead walking over to her bed and pulling a book out from under the pillow. Ami was trying so hard to get the blonde to like reading, so the least Usagi could do was entertain her friend’s hopes and dreams. After all, the book was a fairly simple one.
She opened the book, pulling out its bookmark- the necklace Peter had given her in her past life- only to see that a pendant had been added to it: a small, round, smooth crystal pendant. She furrowed her eyebrows at the new charm, only to shrug and place the necklace around her neck. Her mom or Luna had probably added it as a gift. With a sigh, she began to read.
All children, except one, grow up.
Briefly, Usagi pondered the opening line. Such a simple idea, to never grow up. An idea many children dreamed of well into adolescence. An idea she had turned down in the Silver Millennium in exchange for responsibility. Oh how she wished she could steal that idea back, if only for a moment.
Absentmindedly, the blonde began whistling a simple tune, unaware that across dimensions, someone heard her.

Peter awoke with a start and a gasp, hitting his head on the bunk above him, resulting in a chain reaction that woke up all the other lost boys as well.
“Ah, what is it now?” Twins demanded, rubbing his eyes. He was long past growing tired of Peter’s nightly interruptions, even if it had been years- no, decades- since one had occurred.
The brown-haired boy grinned slightly and leapt out of bed, running over to the look out. “Don’t you hear it?” he asked. “She’s out there; she’s alive!” He climbed the ladder up and poked his head out, peering around for any sign of the moon princess.
The lost boys moaned, more than tired of hearing about this. “Peter, she’s dead,” Slightly insisted harshly. “When you last saw Wendy, she was old and... well, old! Serenity’s gotten older, too. She’s long past dead!” Slightly was always the one to smack some sense into Peter when his delusions got out of hand. “She’s gone.”
Peter only shook his head. “No,” he insisted. “She’s alive. She’s out there. I know it.” There was no explaining the connection he had with the girl, but it was strong. He was sure he could feel her emotions as she could feel his. They had formed a bond on their first trip to Neverland that never truly faded.

Usagi walked home from school, fiddling with her hair, her C+ test grade tucked under her arm. One of the buns had gotten a bit of pasta sauce stuck in it, and in her attempts to remove it, she had all but ruined the bun. There was probably no fixing it without taking it down, but that wouldn’t stop her from trying. She bit her lip as she yanked on the pigtail in an attempt to get it back under her control, only to see it have no effect. With a sigh, the blonde gave up and stopped to put her test in her briefcase.
In her pause, Usagi failed to notice a pair of arms reach out from the alleyway and grab her. The blonde tried to scream, but her mouth had been covered. She struggled and fought, but her efforts were fruitless. After Paris, she had passed her senshi abilities on to Adam, and Mamoru had broken up with her for reasons she was still not entirely sure of. That meant no powers. No hero. No hope.
Still, the former senshi of the moon could fight. She was strong. And she was determined to live.
The girl bit the man’s hand and stepped on his foot, running off the second she was free. However, luck was not on her side, and the man quickly caught up, pushing her into a wall.
Usagi hit the brick hard, the pendant on her necklace slamming into the wall along with her. Light flashed before her eyes, and she fell to the ground, noticing that it was suddenly cold, soft snow, not rough pavement.
